If you know me, there’s a good chance you know Charlie. Charlie is my cousin but also, and more importantly, one of my best friends. Last year Charlie told me he was going to marry Regan and I was so excited a few weeks ago when he texted and let me know he was planning to propose. I’m honored that he asked me to be there to photograph the event.
Regan and Charlie’s closest family members helped prepare the sweetest setup while Charlie went to pick Regan up for a surprise date. You might be wondering why all of this took place at an Elementary school. Regan and Charlie met in the third grade and “dated”. Well, dated as much as third graders can so Charlie wanted to bring her back to the place “where it all started” to propose.
When they pulled up their families were waiting with flowers with photos of them attached (that Regan and Charlie completely walked past!), and in a tearful moment for most of us watching, Charlie asked Regan to be his bride. Regan said yes and then they were surrounded by nothing but love and hugs from everyone.
It’s still a little hard to believe my “little” cousin is getting married but I couldn’t be happier for him! Regan and Charlie, you deserve all the happiness and love in the world!
Congratulations to the future Mr. and Mrs. Heitz! Let the wedding planning begin!
